报告题目: Composite Materials for Next Generation Rechargeable Batteries

报告摘要:Recent interest in developing renewable energy sources has largely stemmed from the widespread use of fossil fuels in the past few decades, which has resulted in environmental problems and has led to rapid exhaustion of fossil fuels.

    As one of the most promising candidates for power sources in electric vehicles and large-scale electrochemical energy storage, lithium-ion batteries need to be further improved by solving problems related to safety issues, high costs, low rate capability, and low energy density. The development of new types of battery materials is therefore necessary. Advanced composite materials of germanium, Li4Ti5O12, Li3VO4, LiMnO4, LiFePO4 will be introduced here.  

    The rechargeable Li–S and lithium-air batteries currently enjoy great scientific interest because theoretically, they can store significantly more energies, which possible exceed that of lithium-ion batteries.  Our recent work on Li–S batteries (sulfur-carbon composites and sulfur-conducting polymer composites) and Li-O2 batteries (cobalt-based and palladium-based cathode materials) will be presented in this seminar。

 

报告人介绍:王佳兆,教授,现就职于澳大利亚卧龙岗大学超导与电子材料研究所。2003年在卧龙岗大学获得博士学位。主要研究领域:二次电池的电化学存储,包括锂离子电池,锂空气、锂硫、钠离子、钠空气以及铅酸电池等。参与过27项研究项目,其中作为主要参与人完成17项澳洲ARC基金项目;作为团队负责人已结题6项ARC基金。在包括Advanced Materials、Energy &Environmental Science、Angew Chem Inter、Advanced Energy Materials等顶尖期刊已发表论文190余篇,总引用12500余次,H指数61。
